A 17th-century country manor at the end of a sweeping drive, and one of the Hertfordshire venues Asian couples have taken to most in recent years. We have photographed here more than once, so this page is a working note on how the day actually photographs.
Photographing at Offley Place
The drive and the parkland
Twenty-seven acres of parkland with mature trees and open lawn means couple portraits do not have to be rushed or crowded. We usually take ten minutes out after the ceremony while guests are still being seated — long enough for real portraits, short enough that nobody misses you.
The walled garden and Rose Garden
The walled garden holds soft, even light for most of the afternoon and is the most reliable portrait spot on the estate when the sun is high and unkind. The Rose Garden is the one to hold back for golden hour.
Indoor spaces
The Hester Ballroom takes the larger receptions, with the Conservatory and the smaller suites suiting intimate ceremonies. Each has a different light character, so we walk all of them before the day and plan lens choices around it rather than defaulting to flash.
Multicultural and multi-day
Offley Place is used to multicultural weddings, which matters when a day runs a civil ceremony, a Hindu ceremony and an evening reception back to back. We build the shot plan around that sequence instead of treating it as one block.

Do you know Offley Place well?

Can you cover a civil ceremony and a Hindu ceremony on the same day?
Yes. Multi-ceremony days are normal for us. We plan the timeline with your planner so portraits and outfit changes are accounted for rather than squeezed in.
How far in advance should we book?
For a Saturday in peak season, most couples come to us twelve to eighteen months out. Off-season and weekday dates have more availability and often photograph beautifully.
